Iheanacho Vows To Work Harder After Goal Vs Arsenal

Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho is keen to revive his career at Leicester City after scoring in the Foxes’ 3-1 Premier League win over Arsenal on Wednesday.

The Nigeria international, who is hoping to make coach Gernot Rohr’s squad to the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup, scored the first goal for the former Premier League champions on Wednesday in the 14th minute before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang equalized in the 53rdminute.

Both Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez added one each in the 76th and 90th minutes respectively to beat the Gunners 3-1.

“That’s what every player wants, to play. When you work hard, you get your chance, so I’ll keep working hard and see what’s next,” Iheanacho told Sky Sports.

“It’s always good to be involved in a good sport, with a great team. We started well and we got the first goal. We had the confidence and the momentum and we finished well.

“It was important to get the first goal to get us going and get our confidence back for the last couple of games. I think we’ve got our confidence back now, we’re strong and we’ll keep going. It was a great goal, good composure, a good assist from Fouss [Fousseni Diabata] and a good finish.”

Leicester City will face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday in their last game of the season and the Nigerian will be looking forward to making an impressive appearnace in the game.

The Foxes are ninth in the EPL table with 47 points from 37 games while Tottenham Hotspur are third with 74 points with same number of games.
